Biography
Joseph and Lynn Goldovitz have been performing music together since they were teenagers. Their unique vocal blend is energetic and yet has the feel of the very familiar. Although they sing and play the music of many Jewish composers; the greatest influence has always been the music and teaching of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach ztz’l.
Some of the highlights of their career include performing three consecutive years at the International Klezmer Festival in Tzfat (Safed), Israel and for the Jewish Renaissance Foundation at the Governor’s Mansion in Princeton, New Jersey. They also, after a three year absence, performed in the 2010 Tzfat Klezmer Festival this past August.
In addition to continuing as performers, they served as Cantorial Soloists for Temple Beth El, Fort Myers, Florida for almost four years. They are currently serving as Cantorial Soloists for Congregation Sinai in Clermont/Minneola, Florida. They have also been members of the Guild of Temple Musicians.
Joseph and Lynn currently reside in DeBary, Florida and perform locally as well as throughout the USA. Their CD “Back to Basics” is a collection of songs by Rabbi Carlebach and other composers such as Rabbi Shmuel Brazil and Rabbi Hillel Pallai. A more recent work, “Maavar”, explores varied contemporary and traditional musical concepts.
