As promised, here is the update for “A Taste of Pointe Orlando”: April 29th, 2-5 PM at Pointe Orlando (9101 International Drive, Orlando, FL 32819). It is an afternoon to try out the fare at multiple restaurants at Pointe Orlando (who knows … you may find a new “favorite”!) while benefiting Florida Hospital Orlando’s Esophageal Cancer program! For tickets and more info, go to www.pointeorlando.com/taste (see link or copy and paste to your browser).
June 2nd, 7-9 PM, will be our Klezmer concert at Congregation Sinai of Minneola (303A North Hwy 27, Minneola, FL). Joining us will be Jacob Goldberger and Ray Guiser. Come for a great night of Klezmer and more (Rock and Roll, Folk and some Just Plain Fun)! Tickets are $18 and may be purchased at the door. Come early for the best seats!
We’ve been busy lately…that’s good news.
On March 3rd we played our first night at the White Wolf Cafe, Orange Ave, Orlando. People seemed to enjoy our music as they dined and we are returning on March 31st.
While at White Wolf, connections were made and we are pleased to announce that we will be performing at “A Taste of Pointe Orlando” to benefit the Florida Hospital Fund and Awareness Raiser on April 29th. Stay tuned for more updates and details. We will share as we learn more!
Hey, everyone, we have updated our web site with new engagements and lots of happenings. Short list: Feb. 12 “Fruit Festival” at Temple Beth El of Fort Myers; Jewish Heritage Festival in Daytona Beach on March 18th; April 22 Israel Fest in Fort Myers. Check out our GIGS CALENDAR for more!
Well, we finally have MOST of the ‘bugs’ out of our updating procedures. So … We have added new pictures from this year’s Tzfat Klezmer Festival. Also, if you go to YouTube and search “Klezmer in Safed Israel” (or see link below…), you’ll find almost 15 minutes of video from our performances! More to come, but we obviously had a great time!

Shalom All! We have returned from Israel and will update the site in the very near future (once we catch up on the mundane things left undone for 2 weeks…). The Festival was great, as always. After Tzfat, we took a little trip to Be’er Sheva to play for the folks at Beit Yona and a great time was had by all. Pictures are forthcoming, as well as some You Tube links once the video has been edited!
Please be patient and check back often, as we are fighting a bit of jet lag. Thanks!
As you can read about on our Klezmer Festival Page, we are preparing to head to Israel again this summer to perform in the International Klezmer Festival in Tzfat! We will sorely miss our son, Jeremiah, who will be touring with his incredible chamber ensemble, Antioch, in France and Spain. (You can read about them on www.antiochchamberensemble.org !)
Anticipation and excitement is growing as we prepare for the trip and we will keep you posted as details develop!
We have just returned from a wonderful weekend in Chattanooga, TN. Congregation B’nai Zion hosted us for the weekend and we performed a ‘Shabbat Rocks’ Friday night, helped lead the Saturday morning service, gave a teaching seminar Saturday afternoon and rounded it all off with a little concert for the folks Sunday morning after Shacharit. The people were wonderful, the food plentiful and a great time was had by all! (Pictures coming soon!)
Many thanks to B’nai Zion, Joel Susman and, yes, Al Jarman (who was the ‘shadkin’ behind it all from the beginning…).
Huge thanks to JR and Carla, who put us up and put up with us! (Love to Falafel!)
Thanks to Al, Paula and the boys for your love and friendship … hard to believe SO much time had passed since we were there! (Love to Jake and Chachi!)
We finally are able to add information to our own web site. This probably means we are becoming somewhat technologically educated. Anyways, lots of new stuff is about to happen in our life here in sunny Florida.
After close to four years of service to Temple Beth El in Fort Myers as Cantorial Soloists, we have moved on. The people at TBE were wonderful and we only have good thoughts and memories as we move forward.
Beginning in June, 2010, we will be serving Congregation Sinai in Minneola, Florida as Cantorial Soloists. We will be leading services two Friday evenings a month and conducting the Holiday services as well. Please look at our calendar page for specific dates. Check out Congregation Sinai’s site at : www.congregationsinai-minneola.org. The people at Congregation Sinai are very friendly … please join us for services and get acquainted.
Please also check our calendar for upcoming events, as we will be visiting other synagogues and leading musical Shabbat services as well as performing concerts in the future.
Happenstance has a new cd! “Happenstance Live in the Studio” is now available by contacting us via e-mail or coming to one of our gigs.
We hope to keep you updated with more frequency now that we have figured out how to do it!
